Stylish Casual Shoes Are Comfortable And Look Great

By Bernice Terry

Stylish casual shoes are available in many designs for both women and men. This type of footwear is intended for daily use and comfort, but it can still boast a fun and colorful style. Typically casual footwear has a simpler design and in the case of women's shoes, a lower heel as well. The arches and toe bar of the feet should be supported by them, making them ideal for going for a walk or to the mall.

In warm climates or during the summer, sandals are the best choice in footwear. These open designs offer maximum comfort and ventilation and are constructed to fit the contours of the feet and distribute body weight evenly which supports the legs, ankles, and feet. Many also have additional padding on the heels, giving more stability and spinal alignment.

Clogs are a casual shoe that is a hybrid between the sandal and the solid shoe, as it consists of a closed toe box but has an open back with a strap. They are easy to slip on and off and are great for people who are on their feet a lot. Most have a rubber insole for cushioned comfort inside and a wooden or rubber sole on the bottoms for optimal traction.

The moccasin provides the ultimate in comfort, with its sock or slipper-like feel. The original designs were made by Native peoples out of deerskin and were often elaborately decorated with bead work. Many of the styles today are made in factories, but still offer the same basic design and unsurpassable comfort. They are the closest one can get to walking barefoot.

Lace-up footwear come in many varieties including running shoes and also those which are made from canvas or leather. Athletic shoes are the footwear of choice for many people of all ages whether they participate in sports or not, and have become quite a fashion statement in fact. There are other lace-up designs as well that can be worn to slightly more formal settings.

The ballet flat is a stylish but comfortable shoe that many women like. When selecting this type of footwear, it's important to look for a design that has a cushioned insole and a slight heel as this will provide more support to the feet when walking. It should be exactly the proper size, and if there is a strap across the top this is even better.

Whichever style of casual footwear one favors must be a proper fit for his or her feet. At the shoe store, the salesperson will accurately measure the length, width, and shape of customers' feet to ensure they select footwear best-suited to these measurements. Poorly fitted shoes can lead to many problems with the feet and legs.

When shopping for stylish casual shoes buyers must be sure to try on each and every pair they like before buying them. Walking around in for awhile to determine if the toes are not being squeezed or the heels are either too tight or too loose is recommended. Footwear which shows evidence of cracked leather, poorly sewn seams, or poor quality insoles should not be purchased.

Solid Tips For Buying Great New Shoes

By Bailey Lewis

When you need to get some new shoes, then you need some advice on what to look for in them. The knowledge you need can be found in the great tips below. All you need to do now is keep reading, and you'll get all the information about shoes you need.

Walk around in shoes prior to purchasing them. You might not realize that the shoe is uncomfortable unless you do a test walk. You may need to switch sizes a few times before finding one that fits just right.

Don't spend more than your budget will allow. Stick to whatever budget you have set for shoe purchases. You may feel like grabbing lots of pairs if there's a sale, but you'll bust your budget if you do. Keep your needs and wants in mind while seeking shoes in your budget.

Since many shoes are designed to fit a certain type of foot, know what type of arch you have before you go shoe shopping. Dampen the sole of your foot, then place your foot onto paper on the floor. The wet parts will illustrate your arch type. A flat arch leaves a nearly solid wet footprint. If you have a high arch, you won't see it on the paper. This is a good way to find the right fit.

Don't fall for shoes "breaking in." It is common for shoe sales clerks to assure you that they will feel better after a breaking in period. This is not always true. In fact, comfortable shoes should feel that way from the moment you put them on. If a pair does not feel good, continue looking for a different pair of shoes.

Get yourself some athletic shoes that are good. Regardless of what physical activities you participate in, you need to have shoes made for this purpose. The right shoes will support your feet properly. Shoes that weren't made for lots of physical activity do not provide much support, and this can cause some damage to the ankles, feet and knees.

If you're going to get some shoes on the Internet, you should see if there's a return policy in case they're not fitting correctly. Since you can't try them on before you buy them, it's possible you'll have to return a pair because they just don't fit properly. Find out if there's a guarantee before you buy, so that you aren't stuck with shoes you won't wear.

When buying shoes for children, allow for growth. Get some with a bit over a thumb's width near the end of the kid's big toe in the shoe. This allows room for the child's foot to grow. If you need help, simply speak to a sales associate in the store.

Enjoy your shoes. They will last forever if you choose wisely!
